McDonald’s has some cool McCafe beverage options for the summer! Two of my favorites at the moment are the McCafe Real Fruit Smoothies and McCafe Frappes. McDonald’s Real Fruit Smoothies come in three flavors Strawberry Banana, Wild Berry and Mango Pineapple. They are a perfect blend of fruit, ice and low fat yogurt. The McCafe Frappes come in Carmel and Mocha flavors made with rich caramel or chocolate, a hint of coffee, blended with ice, topped with whipped cream and a caramel or chocolate flavored drizzle.

The Anticipation of the much awaited album from The Real Laww is set to hit the streets this summer. I had a moment to sit down and speak to The Real Laww about what to expect and exactly how he got started in the music business. I asked when the Real Laww was born, and I received a literal answer in a sarcastic way. “Well my mom and pops came together (no sexual undertones intended) in the 80′s and literally nine months later created J. Lawrence a.k.a The Real Laww”. Everything blossomed in 2003 when he worked with Thunda Pound (Centerpoint out of Raleigh NC). Successfully working on and recording his first piece of original music, The Real Laww went on to work on mix tape solo projects. In the midst of everything The Real Laww joined the marines in 2007, was deployed to Iraq from 2009-2010 and then Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011 and successfully returned from deployment to pick up where he left off, putting out yet another mix tape that received great recognition and radio play. The Real Laww is now finishing up on his first solo album gearing up to be released in August 2012.

If you want to know what style Hip Hop you can expect from The Real Laww, it’s explained as a jazz, pop, hip rock, hip hop fusion! I was recently able to catch a show with Toon (his partner in crime) and The Real Laww at Casbah in Durham, NC and thoroughly enjoyed the performance. They get lots of local love! Toon and The Real Laww are not a Hip Hop Duo however as separate artists their music flows together and just works perfectly when performing and them as an overall team. A HUGE announcement was recently released on April 18th with Toon and The Real Laww being a part of the Hopscotch Music Festival Lineup with The Roots headlining this coming September. This year’s Hopscotch Music Festival is going to be epic! The Real Laww is an Independent Artist and chooses to remain so, for the time being. There is something to be said about being able to have 100% creative control over your work with which you are so passionate about.

I had the pleasure of working with The Real Laww on my music video project and it was a great experience. In addition to being an Artist He’s also a producer working with other Artists to create good music. I don’t consider myself a music artist by any means but, The Real Laww was very patient with me, and held my hand throughout the entire process. I took the creative criticism and advice and ended up creating a great song and music video that is being received well in the blogosphere and getting hits on YouTube with positive comments. I worked with Type Media and many others to bring to life an idea that began in a Durham coffee shop.

How cool would it be to write a song, record it, AND create a video from the perspective of a blogger seeking sponsorship of his/her blog and brand? True die hard bloggers who value content, want to network with fellow bloggers, build relationships and connect with brands by attending conferences each year, some several times a year. I recently had the opportunity to attend the Callen Charm School Branding Event. It was held at Nordstrom – Southpoint in the M.A.C cosmetics Department. Callen Charm School owned by Camille Allen is a series of events focused on women entrepreneurs that represent beauty and lifestyle related brands. The events and courses cover: Understanding branding, How to accessorize your brand, creating your marketing playbook, creating a unique client experience and more. There was a MAC Master Class that gave us an introduction to M.A.C cosmetics, Brushes 101, Primers/ Skin Care and Makeup Application. I really enjoyed learning about the different tips, Secrets, and techniques that the MAC make-up artists shared. Each attendee was matched with the right foundation and received a sample. We also received zoom fast black lash mascara, and primer among other goodies.

M.A.C cosmeticsis a strong brand that is loved by many. I have used MAC lipstick and lip gloss for years but, I have sensitive skin and don’t really wear makeup regularly. I definitely will try their makeup especially because I do want a certain look when attending social events. I feel as though I am a representative of my brand and should look the part (at all times) most of the time. I’m mommy to four children and often times I’m more obsessed with what my children wear and how they look when leaving the house than myself. I guess that’s something else for me to work on. Making time for me and taking the necessary time to look exactly how I want to at all times. I’ll definitely take what I learned and try to make it a daily routine. I don’t have to be made up completely all the time so I can do something quick and on the go to bring out certain features of my face, like my eyes and lips.

I’m walking on Saturday April 21, 2012. Be a part of the inaugural Answers for Cancer Walk and help support families fighting cancer, one step at a time. The Holt Foundation has teamed up with NC State and the Kay Yow Fund to make April 21, 2012, a day full of family fun, Wolfpack pride and determination to help the families in our community who need it most. The walk will be followed by the Wolfpack Club BBQ Bowl and the NC State Kay Yow Spring Game.

Join us as we take the steps to create change for families who are faced with cancer. Form your own team, be a fundraiser or donate to support the KidsCan! Hospital Program, which helps families cope with a cancer diagnosis. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
